The Rural Development Foundation Association (RDFA) was formed by a group of educated unemployed youths of Senapati district with the theme “Green Earth” under the guidance and patronage of Shri Dominic Loli Adanee, social activist and philanthropist in 1995. It was registered formally the same year under Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989 as a Non-Government Organisation. The main purpose of the RDFA was to revolutionize the standard of living of the underprivileged population of the district by helping them to make a sustainable living for the agrarian populace of the district especially the youths.
